2025 Rescues

  • Elsa & Thursday

Elsa and Thursday have found a loving home together with Rickkie and Michelle. LISSR extends a heartfelt thank you to Rickkie and Michelle for welcoming these two beautiful Shelties into their hearts and home.

  • Gracie

Gracie has been adopted! The Hamski’s, who were her foster family, happily became foster failures. Gracie now has another Sheltie, also adopted from LISSR, and a Golden Retriever to play with. If Shea and Agnes don’t wear her out, she also has Brendan, Colin, and Eileen to keep her entertained.

  • Tanner

Tanner, who is now known as Sonny was adopted by a lovely woman and is now living in Whitestone receiving all the attention he can handle.

  • Dakota

Dakota has been adopted by a wonderful family. The best part is he has a beautiful Tri sister Jelly to play with. We wish him a happy, fun filled life.

  • Jade

Our 1- 1/2 yo old puppy Jade has struck gold. Jade was diagnosed with a congenital cataract, so we wanted to ensure a comprehensive baseline eye exam for her adopters to be aware of potential future health expenses. Although her eyes are currently fine, she may require cataract removal to maintain healthy vision as she ages. For now, she only needs monitoring. Jade was an exemplary patient, and her new family is dedicated to meeting her needs. LISSR extends their gratitude to Jade’s new parents and her new sibling.

  • Percy

Percy has been adopted and resides in Maine. His long journey was well worth it, as his new mom Corrine expressed that they were meant to be together. I am sure Father Frank would approve.

  • Lola

We are delighted for Lola as she has her own family with her mom, Deb. She will also be joining another Sheltie and two Keeshonds.

  • Meeko & Specs

We are so thrilled for Meeko and Specks. They have found their forever home. We were waiting for the right home so that they could stay together and our patience paid off big time, as you can see from the smiles all around. Jessica and her family stepped up and offered them a home together. Thank you so much. They have a wonderful home and a very large yard to run and play in, right here on Long Island, so we will get to see them at events. We wish them a happy, fun filled life!

  • Daisy (AKA Izzy)

Izzy, now renamed Daisy, resides in Rhode Island with a loving family. Although it took some time to find the ideal home, the wait was definitely worthwhile. 💕She will be getting all the love she can handle. Father Frank is looking down and smiling with the placement of all his cherished shelties.

  • Brody

As you can see by all the smiles, Brody is going to be one spoiled Sheltie. He will get all the love he can handle. He’s already bringing so much joy to his family!

  • Jake & Lily

We are so happy for our “bonded pair”- Jake and Lily. They have found a wonderful home, with Bill and Enid. This is a true sheltie home – the only breed dogs they have had. Jake and Lily will certainly be the center of the home.

  • Preston

It was love at first sight for Preston, a little Bi-Black and his new mom. Just in time for spring walks and visits to the beach. Enjoy the butterflies and flowers; you are both destined to be together.

  • Judge

Judge joined his new family – Ricky and Lena. This photo and the smiles tell it all. His new mom says that she is already “smitten”.

  • Gabby

Gabby, a playful and affectionate sheltie, has found her forever home with Barbara and Mark, who have previously adopted other shelties from LISSR. They are treating her like a Princess, ensuring she feels loved and secure.

  • Dolly

Dolly has found a loving home with Sherry and that is continuing her dedication to rescue work. Downsizing to a Sheltie sounds like a great fit for her. Wishing them both a joyful life together in the Hudson Valley!

  • Lucky

Lucky, the fortunate Sheltie, found his forever home with a family who had recently lost their beloved Jessie. They started as his foster family but became what’s affectionately known as “foster failures” when they decided to keep him. Now, Lucky is helping them heal from their loss. It’s a situation where everyone benefits.

  • Sadie (AKA Darlin)

Sweet Sadie , aka Darlin, has found her forever home with Lisa and Kevin, along with her four-legged brothers Jake and Tucker. Sadie was the missing piece of the family puzzle.
