Another beautiful Happy Ending! 
Sweet Summer has found her furever home, and the best part is⦠she never had to leave. Her foster parents welcomed her in with love while we searched for her perfect match, only to realize she had already found it. 
Weāre delighted to welcome her new family into our Foster Failure Club and canāt wait to see them at future LISSR events. Summerās story is a reminder that sometimes the perfect home is the one that opens its door first. - Chance

We are absolutely thrilled for Chance. This sweet boy has officially found his forever home with Barbara and Carl in Massachusetts, and our hearts couldnāt be happier.
We are so grateful to them for opening their homeāand their heartsāto Chance. Knowing he is safe, loved, and finally home means everything.
We also want to extend a huge thankāyou to the incredible team who made his journey possible. Ed, Chanceās devoted foster dad, and Sandy and Mark, who happened to be on Long Island today and still made the trip back to Massachusetts to bring Chance to Barbara and Carl. Your kindness and dedication turned a long travel day into a beautiful new beginning.
To everyone involvedāthank you. Chanceās story has the happiest ending because of you. Welcome home, CHANCE.
- Sadie

If you remember, Sadie came back into rescue after her owner passed away. She has always been a very shy girl, one who needs time, patience, and gentle understanding before she feels safe. Jackie is truly the perfect match for her ā she works from home and has experience helping shy Shelties blossom at their own pace.
We wish Sadie a beautiful, loveāfilled life with her new mom.
- Speedy

Speedy has now found his forever home. He is living on Long Island with a wonderful family. The family has adopted from us before, so Speedy is living with another LISSR dog. Speedy is the sable boy and joins Skye, the blue merle. Wishing him a happy life!
- Phoebe

Phoebe, an 8yo bi-blue went to western NY, where she joins a bi-black brother named Gunner and her new mom. We have heard that she is settling in very nicely in her new home.
- Samson

Samson (9 mo. sable male), went to his new home in NJ where he will be the center of attention. He has a large fenced in yard where he will have plenty of space to run and explore. He is going to have the best life.
- Toshi

Toshi (7.5 yo tri male) took the Orient Point ferry to CT, where he met his new mom and traveled to Massachusetts. We are so grateful to his foster mom for taking him over on the ferry and also for helping him transition so he was ready for his forever family.
2025 Rescues
- Finn

Our little puppy Finn has been adopted by Bridget and Anthony, and he even wore a tie to celebrate. His Sheltie sister Penny has been coming out of her shell more and more since Finn arrived. Who can resist a four-month-old puppy? Finn says he hopes to see everyone at the Holiday Party.Ā
- Isla & Eddie

We had a bonded pair of shelties – Eddie and Isla. Their foster dad told us that they were indeed bonded and in his opinion couldn’t or shouldn’t be separated. We are thrilled to say that a family from CT has adopted them. They hit the jackpot and have a wonderful new family. We wish them and their family much happiness. They have already been for a walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed playing ball in the yard
- Elsa & Thursday

Elsa and Thursday have found a loving home together with Rickkie and Michelle. LISSR extends a heartfelt thank you to Rickkie and Michelle for welcoming these two beautiful Shelties into their hearts and home.
- Gracie

Gracie has been adopted! The Hamski’s, who were her foster family, happily became foster failures. Gracie now has another Sheltie, also adopted from LISSR, and a Golden Retriever to play with. If Shea and Agnes donāt wear her out, she also has Brendan, Colin, and Eileen to keep her entertained.
- Tanner

Tanner, who is now known as Sonny was adopted by a lovely woman and is now living in Whitestone receiving all the attention he can handle.
- Dakota

Dakota has been adopted by a wonderful family. The best part is he has a beautiful Tri sister Jelly to play with.Ā We wish him a happy, fun filled life.
- Jade

Our 1- 1/2 yo old puppy Jade has struck gold. Jade was diagnosed with a congenital cataract, so we wanted to ensure a comprehensive baseline eye exam for her adopters to be aware of potential future health expenses. Although her eyes are currently fine, she may require cataract removal to maintain healthy vision as she ages. For now, she only needs monitoring. Jade was an exemplary patient, and her new family is dedicated to meeting her needs. LISSR extends their gratitude to Jade’s new parents and her new sibling.
- Percy

Percy has been adopted and resides in Maine. His long journey was well worth it, as his new mom Corrine expressed that they were meant to be together. I am sure Father Frank would approve.Ā

- Lola

We are delighted for Lola as she has her own family with her mom, Deb. She will also be joining another Sheltie and two Keeshonds.
- Meeko & Specs

We are so thrilled for Meeko and Specks. They have found their forever home. We were waiting for the right home so that they could stay together and our patience paid off big time, as you can see from the smiles all around. Jessica and her family stepped up and offered them a home together. Thank you so much. They have a wonderful home and a very large yard to run and play in, right here on Long Island, so we will get to see them at events. We wish them a happy, fun filled life!
- Daisy (AKA Izzy)

Izzy, now renamed Daisy, resides in Rhode Island with a loving family. Although it took some time to find the ideal home, the wait was definitely worthwhile. šShe will be getting all the love she can handle. Father Frank is looking down and smiling with the placement of all his cherished shelties.
- Brody

As you can see by all the smiles, Brody is going to be one spoiled Sheltie. He will get all the love he can handle. He’s already bringing so much joy to his family!
- Jake & Lily

We are so happy for our “bonded pair”- Jake and Lily. They have found a wonderful home, with Bill and Enid. This is a true sheltie home – the only breed dogs they have had. Jake and Lily will certainly be the center of the home.
- Preston

It was love at first sight for Preston, a little Bi-Black and his new mom. Just in time for spring walks and visits to the beach. Enjoy the butterflies and flowers; you are both destined to be together.
- Judge

Judge joined his new family – Ricky and Lena. This photo and the smiles tell it all. His new mom says that she is already “smitten”.
- Gabby

Gabby, a playful and affectionate sheltie, has found her forever home with Barbara and Mark, who have previously adopted other shelties from LISSR. They are treating her like a Princess, ensuring she feels loved and secure.
2024 Rescues
- Buttons

Buttons and Kim received their Christmas wish when they found each other. Buttons will begin the New Year with a new life with Kim. Buttons has hit the jackpot, and her wait to be adopted was well worth it.
- Remington

Remington’s Christmas wish has come true. He has found his family and will be spending Christmas in his new home. Santa has indeed been very good to him.
- Shea

SheaĀ is going to have a happy loved filled life.Ā Ā He has 3 kids to play with plus Agnes who is a 2 yr. old Golden Retriever thatās been anxiously waiting for a friend to run and play with in their huge yard.
- Ferris

Ā
FerrisĀ may have had a challenging beginning, but with his foster momās care, just look at that joyful face. Another Sheltie has been rescued and is now thriving. He adores his mom.
- Fawn

We’re overjoyed for Fawn; she has settled into her forever home with Linda. As a previous adopter, Linda is ecstatic to welcome Fawn into her family.
- Shane

Itās wonderful to hear that Shane has settled in so well with his new family and is getting along with his sheltie brother. It sounds like heās found the perfect forever home.Ā
- Skye

Skye has gained a new brother named Gizmo. We’re overjoyed that he’s been adopted by a wonderful family on Long Island, and he’ll have a Sheltie brother to grow up with. Wishing them a joyful life together!
- Mandy (AKA Sandy)

Mandy (AKA Sandy) is the last of our Missouri Puppy mill dogs to be adopted. Ā Mandy is joining her new family here on Long Island, Mike, Judy, her 4 legged brother, Rusty, an Australian Shepherd and Sundance, the family horse. Mandy’s new mom plans to take her for obedience training and agility. Sounds like Sandy will have a full and happy life. Congratulations to all!
- Shamus

Shamus with his 2 brothers.Ā He also has 2 human sisters.Ā They are an active family and he is living in a great home with a large fenced in yard.Ā He had a Halloween costume this year.
- Lucy

Lucy, a charming four-year-old tri-color female, was adopted in upstate New York. Her new family enrolled her in obedience classes where she performed exceptionally well, after all she is a Sheltie.
- Sugar

Sugar, the affectionate Sheltie, at the age of 12, has found the warm and loving home she deserves to relish her golden years. She is receiving excellent care and has become the cherished center of her owner’s world.
- Rocky (AKA Kris)

Rocky, also known as Kris, is one of the Shelties rescued from a dire situation in Missouri. He is now experiencing the best life possible. He not only has loving parents but also enjoys the company of another rescued Sheltie.
- Dolly

Dolly has found a loving home with Sherry and that is continuing her dedication to rescue work. Downsizing to a Sheltie sounds like a great fit for her. Wishing them both a joyful life together in the Hudson Valley!
- Lucky

Lucky, the fortunate Sheltie, found his forever home with a family who had recently lost their beloved Jessie. They started as his foster family but became what’s affectionately known as “foster failures” when they decided to keep him. Now, Lucky is helping them heal from their loss. It’s a situation where everyone benefits.
- Sadie (AKA Darlin)

Sweet Sadie , aka Darlin, has found her forever home with Lisa and Kevin, along with her four-legged brothers Jake and Tucker. Sadie was the missing piece of the family puzzle.
- Shiloh

Shiloh found his forever home yesterday. While he’s friendly with other dogs, he truly enjoys being the center of attention. And that’s precisely what he’s going to receive. All eyes on him. He’s a joyful, joyful pup.
- Lady

Lady, a stunning Blue Merle, is not only beautiful but also incredibly sweet. She is living the life that every Sheltie deserves.
- Ivy

Ivy, like Jesse, comes from a similar background. She has been welcomed into a home where she is discovering a variety of enjoyable activities.
- Jesse

Jesse was saved from a dreadful situation. Fortunately, LISSR found an ideal home for him, one that is filled with love and care.
- Jack

It sounds like Jack is going to have a wonderful time with his three human brothers! With all those adventures ahead, heās sure to be one happy and spoiled pup. š¶

We are so happy for Kaylee and her new adoptive family. Kaylee is a sweet girl who came into rescue and had a great start with a wonderful foster family. Her life from now on will be filled with love and happiness.

Levi, a spirited young Sheltie, is always in search of new adventures. He has found the perfect home where he can go hiking, enjoy swimming, and play with his fellow Sheltie siblings.

Rex is settling in nicely at his forever home and has become a resident of Rhode Island. He is on the path to a life full of love and happiness.
